A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Fill in what you know. We use it to write one letter, and every Email button on these pages opens it ready to send from your own email. Leave anything blank and the letter keeps a gap for you to fill in.

The letter

Before you get in touch

You can email WPA to say the person has passed away and ask them to close the policy. Include the WPA customer number and the person's full name. WPA may ask for a copy of the death certificate and a grant of probate or letters of administration. You can also live chat in the WPA Health app or My WPA.
