Tell them online

You can set this up in advance

Legacy contact (one TikTok friend, account holder must be 18 or over) who can manage the memorialised profile and download posts, or choose Delete after death. In the TikTok app: Profile, Menu, Settings and privacy, Account, Account legacy.

A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

TikTok has no phone line. Close family can ask for a memorial account or deletion with this form. You need proof of your relationship, proof of death and proof the account was theirs. If they chose a legacy contact, TikTok follows that choice.
