A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

Premium Credit spreads the cost of things like car or home insurance, memberships and school fees. They do not publish a bereavement process, so call and say the person has passed away. Have the agreement number and the name of the insurer or club the payments were for.

Checked on 27 September 2026 against Premium Credit's own page. Numbers do change now and then, so if one doesn't work, their page is the best place to look.

Other investments, credit and credit files
