A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

Capital One says the easiest way to tell them is NotifyNOW, a free online service. Their partner Phillips & Cohen Associates then get in touch within 30 days. Anyone with an extra card on the account should call too.

Checked on 27 September 2026 against Capital One UK's own page. Numbers do change now and then, so if one doesn't work, their page is the best place to look.
