They are free, and between them they reach most of the government, most banks, and the junk mail lists. None of them takes email, so use each button.

A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

Google has no phone line. One form lets you close the account, ask for money in it or get data from it. Ask for the data first, because once the account is closed Google cannot hand it over. You need your ID and a scan of the death certificate.
