A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

If the person who passed away had a London Freedom Pass, email or call the Freedom Pass team and they will update their records. This also stops renewal letters being sent to them.
