Tell Us Once

A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

A free service set up by UK banks and building societies. It tells many of them at once.

Free. Stops junk mail and marketing post in their name.

Before you get in touch

Start with the 'Notify us of the bereavement' button on their page, which sets up a login so you can upload documents. Or post an original or certified death certificate to Fidelity International, PO Box 391, Tadworth, KT20 9FU. Probate papers are needed before any money is paid out.
