A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

Use this if you cannot use Tell Us Once. They stop benefits and State Pension, and check if you can get help with funeral costs. Relay UK callers dial 18001 then 0800 151 2012. If the person lived abroad, contact the International Pension Centre instead.
