A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

You can place a deceased estates notice in The Gazette online. This gives creditors a set time to come forward, which can protect you from being personally liable for debts you did not know about. If you have questions about an order, their customer services team can help by phone or email.
