A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

Standard Life recommends the online form. Have their full name, date of birth, address, plan number and the death certificate ready. Pensions have a different number.
