A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

You can tell the RAC by phone or online form, and they will close the membership. You'll need the person's name, address and date of birth, and your contact details. Any refund goes back to their bank account if it is still open. If not, they can send a cheque in the person's name for the executor to pay in.
