A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

OVO can move the account to a partner, close it, or run it in the name of the executors. You do not have to pay the bills yourself, as they are settled from the estate. On pay as you go, email a photo of the meter's credit screen.
