A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

EDF has no special bereavement team, but says all its teams are trained to help. If you email, use the subject 'Bereavement notification'. You can send a copy of the death certificate later.
