A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

A free service set up by UK banks and building societies. It tells many of them at once.

Free. Stops junk mail and marketing post in their name.

Before you get in touch

Call Motability before you use Tell Us Once or tell DVLA, because that stops the car tax. Once you have told them, named drivers can keep using the car for up to two weeks. If you use the form instead, they call you within 3 working days.
