A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

You can call Green Flag to tell them the person has passed away, and they will guide you through what happens to the breakdown cover. It helps to have the person's name, address and policy number to hand. If they also had cover with Direct Line or Churchill, those brands are handled separately, so you'll need to tell each one.
