A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

You can end a tenancy for someone else when they pass away by calling Gentoo and choosing the tenancy option, or by writing to your local office. They'll ask for four weeks' notice before you move out. Someone who lived with the tenant may be able to take over the tenancy if they tell Gentoo within six months.
