Before you get in touch

You can tell Bank of Ireland UK online, by post to their Bereavement Unit in Belfast, or in a branch. They need a certified copy of the death certificate and proof of your ID. Sole accounts are frozen. They can pay the funeral director from the account before probate. A joint account passes to the other holder.
