How Inherit Vault works
Inherit Vault is a locked record of what you own and where it is, for the person who will sort things out after you pass away. It works in three steps.
1. Add what matters
Write down what you own, where it is and who to contact. Bank accounts, pensions, policies, property, crypto, where your will is kept. Everything is locked on your own device before it reaches us. We only ever hold the locked copy, never anything we can read.
2. Keep your Recovery Certificate safe
When you set up your vault, you get a Recovery Certificate. Print it and keep it with your will. Your executor will need it to open the vault later. Without it, nobody can read what is inside, including us.
3. Handed over carefully
When you pass away, your executor sends us the death certificate and their own photo ID. We check both. Then we wait 14 days, so a false claim can be stopped. After that, the vault is opened to your executor and nobody else. They read it with the phrase from your Recovery Certificate.
Executors and family members never pay. Read exactly how the locking works on our security page, or see the FAQ for the harder questions.
Would your family know where everything is?
