A free GOV.UK service. It tells most government departments at once, including HMRC, DWP, DVLA, the Passport Office and the council. Use the reference number the registrar gives you.

Before you get in touch

To stop a regular gift to Macmillan after a death, call their Supporter Care team. Give the name and address of the person who passed away, and they can stop sending post to that address. If the person left Macmillan a gift in their will, the executor can speak to the Legacy Income Team.
